This is a picture of William Howard Taft, the president who came after Roosevelt. Originally wanting to become a Supreme Court Justice, Taft was convinced by his wife and Roosevelt to run. Roosevelt campaigned for him with enthusiasm. However, many of Taft's decisions as president later angered Roosevelt. The two ran against each other in the next election. Taft was in the Republican Party and Roosevelt in the Progressive. However, neither won the election. Democrat Woodrow Wilson won and took oath as president, leaving the two other candidates fuming. At first glance, we see a picture of two boys fighting over a mother. However, when we look closer, we see that the two boys are William Taft and Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt's hat with the initials TR clear any suspicion of who the two men might be. They are fighting over the vote for Ohio. (Keyuree)
